"We have such a sweet group of people!"
| In the spring we introduced these two banners of historic icons into our worship space. If you'd like to learn more about the use of icons in the church check out this video I did. |
This was what Beth said as she got in the car this past Sunday after church. Nothing out of the ordinary had happened, but the combination of small conversations and connections led her to say that.
It's one of the gifts of church isn't it? Each other!
We've all lived in a "church age" where there has been an inordinate amount of focus on the next attractional thing or effort to grow. In that we can miss one another. We can miss the beauty of the body of Christ and the joy of being in relationship.
I think Beth's statement last week is something I'll remember for awhile and seek to cherish the people of Shalom Anglican. May you do the same at your church!
Updates:
- This past month was a simple season of ministry. While we saw some of our people take much needed vacations we continued to have around 50 adults and kids every Sunday. This is encouraging for a church plant during the PNW summer months.
- Recently we've had some new visitors and one young man commit to be a part of Shalom!
- One brother in our church has needed some help as he awaits surgery and many of our people have stepped up to serve him. This has been so encouraging to my heart.
Prayer:
- Beth and I are taking the next two Sunday's off for some family time and rest. We'd appreciate prayers to unplug and be present to one another and to God during this time. Pray for our volunteer leaders as they serve in our absence!
- Our next baptism is coming up 8/30. We have two adults, a youth, two young children, and two babies getting baptized. Please pray for them as they prepare for their baptism.
- For wisdom and vision for the fall and what's next for Shalom.
For the Shalom of Kitsap,
Father Rob
