"I feel like my house got lifted up and my foundation was rebuilt!"
A few weeks ago we concluded our catechism class. This was a 14 week class that walks through the Apostles Creed, The Lord's Prayer, and the Ten Commandments. I always like to ask folks to share at the end what they've experienced in the class and the quote above is what one man said. Others shared similar words of encouragement! It's amazing what slowing down and walking through the basics of the faith does in a person's life. I'm truly grateful for the time we shared.
Updates:
| Introducing Percy Walker McNie |
- Beth and I welcomed our third grandchild into the world on Sunday July 5th! Once again we were grateful for our leaders at Shalom who covered our Sunday responsibilities as we had to head down the day before to help with our granddaughter.
- On Father's Day we had a "bring your own lunch" picnic after church down at the Silverdale waterfront and had a good time together.
- I've been meeting with a few men in our church and seeing the Lord do some deep work in their lives!
- Our Sunday attendance continues to average somewhere in the 50's each week and we're grateful for all in attendance.
- We recently had a couple step up to lead our coffee ministry as well as a few new volunteers to help.
Prayer:
- I'll be meeting with a few folks who are preparing for baptism. Please keep them in prayer.
- Pray for several of our members who are experiencing significant health challenges.
- Pray for the remaining of our summer as we scale back a little for moments of rest and camping.
- Pray for what's next for Shalom as we head into the fall.
For the Shalom of Kitsap,
Father Rob
