Week 4 at Shalom

Friends of Shalom, When we started gathering for our first meeting on 10/28, I told everyone that we would meet for the next 4 weeks and then re-evaluate. Well... we've made it to that point in our journey and I'm excited to announce that the Lord is forming us into a small core group. People are excited to keep meeting and we're even hearing of others interested in checking us out. So we've decided to continue meeting every Saturday night through December 23rd. Once we get to that point we'll re-evaluate again. Please continue to pray that the Lord would bring more people interested in being a part of this new church as well as continue to grow our friendships with each other.  This week I posted a new video. In this one I share some of my personal story in becoming Anglican as well as our vision and values for Shalom.  There's no Weekly Word this week. I'll get that going again next week. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!  For the Shalom of Kitsa...

Week 3 at Shalom

Friends of Shalom, Well... we're still here. The last 3 weeks driving home from our meetings I've told Beth, "I guess people still want to do this with us!" This last week we had 16 adults and 10 kids. Everyone continues to join us for dinner and we've had some rich conversations.  Here are a few pics from Saturday. I loved doing the kids sermon this week! Thankful for some new folks joining us this week!  This week I did a new video on church planting. This is for individuals as well as church boards.  Why should you consider being a part of a church plant?         I also put together a devotional from Amos 5 for the weekly word.  Weekly Word - True Religion   Thanks so much for your support and prayers!

Week 2 at Shalom, A New Video on Anglicanism, and the Weekly Word (which I'm excited about)

Shalom Fam, Our Second meeting this last Saturday went well. We had about 20 folks. We enjoyed evening prayer together and afterwards had a great discussion about our experience of the liturgy. Many of us are new to experiencing a more ordered service of prayers, scripture reading, etc. so this was a good! We also had a great meal together. Thanks again for praying and please know you are always welcome to join us this Saturday night!  New Anglican Video - A few weeks ago someone asked me about the value of written prayers vs simply praying from your heart. So I decided to do a video on it.  Weekly Word - An Honest Prayer. I'm excited about this one. I haven't done a weekly word yet on the Psalm reading. So check this one out! Thanks for all your support! For the Shalom of Kitsap, Rob, Beth, and the Shalom Family (that's starting to form!)

Shalom Anglican has begun!

Friends of Shalom, Thank you for praying for us last week! We officially began meeting last Saturday night. We had about 20-25 kids and adults. We gathered for vision, evening prayer, and a meal. Here are a few pics. Our Humble Beginning First Children's Sermon with my buddy Christopher!  Weekly Word. This week I got into 1 Thessalonians 2. There we see Paul's heart in his ministry.  We're looking forward to gathering again this Saturday! All are welcome!  For the Shalom of Kitsap, Rob and Beth

New Video - Why would someone be interested in Anglicanism?

Friends of Shalom, Why would someone be interested in Anglicanism? That's a good question. A few weeks ago I did a video on the history of Anglicanism and this week I wanted to share a few reasons why some of us are drawn to this historic liturgical tradition.  I also wanted to share with you the weekly word. This one is from a moment in Jesus' ministry where folks wanted him to pick a side.  Thanks to all who are praying for our first meeting this Saturday. For those planning on joining us please RSVP to shalomanglican@gmail.com.  For the Shalom of Kitsap, Rob and Beth

Two Videos This week!

Friends of Shalom, We're less than two weeks out from our first meeting and I couldn't be more excited! God is bringing people together to help in a variety of ways. My daughter Ellie has decided to join our core team and help with leading us in song! The staff at All Saints Academy have been so welcoming and are excited for us to use the chapel. Others have stepped up to help us with our sound and with coffee (a requirement for church planting in the PNW)!  This week I put together a video sharing some more around what our meetings will be like. We aren't starting a full church service yet, so I felt like this needed some more explanation. We filmed it inside the building. Check it out. Also, here's the weekly word. This week I shared some thoughts from Isaiah 25:1-9 which gives a picture of the day when God will make all wrongs right. This is a powerful text to bring to bear on our hearts as we long for shalom in Israel/Palestine.  Please continue to pray for our firs...
